“Strange, isn’t it? Each man’s life touches so many other lives. When he isn’t around he leaves an awful hole, doesn’t he?” I love “It’s a Wonderful Life”. To me, that is one of the greatest movie lines of all time. I never was able to get through it without getting emotional, but especially now. Paul would have been 17 today. I had to take the day off of work because I know how the day would go. Many people shared memories and photos. As each one came to us, via phone or text or social media, I had to pause and think, or laugh, or cry. Many people shared a photo or memory, some that I had seen before, some that I remembered, some that were new to me. It was intense, as every day since Paul was born has been intense. He was a prism that showed many of us a different view of life. I wish he were here, and I am grateful for all the people who reached out today and shared that they also miss him and and how they remember him. He touched so many people and I still can’t believe the journey we had together. “Remember, no man is a failure who has friends”, and he had a bunch. Thank you to all of you who continue to remember him by reaching out to share your memories, and for those who are making the world a better place through Paul’s Party. We really appreciate it.
